WWE Crown Jewel 2022 – Match card, predictions and rumours

wwe roman reigns logan paul

As expected, Bray Wyatt came back back back to the WWE at Extreme Rules 2022 and we’re already itching to see what freaky plans he has for us.

Meanwhile, Raw and SmackDown are ticking on, and for its next PPV/Premium Live Event, the company is heading back to Saudi Arabia for the first time since Elimination Chamber in February.

The WWE’s jaunts to Saudi Arabia remain controversial, but they’re locked in to a ten-year deal, so don’t expect them to stop any time soon, despite Vince McMahon’s hasty exit and Triple H taking over the creative reins.

So they’re back for Crown Jewel 2022, which takes place on SATURDAY (yep, not Sunday) November 5 at Msrool Park, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

What’s the full match card and predictions for WWE Crown Jewels 2022?

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion: Roman Reigns (c) vs Logan Paul

WWE

Surely, surely not?

Logan Paul has been, we have to admit, pretty damn impressive since he made his debut in the WWE.

His match alongside The Miz to defeat The Mysterios at WrestleMania 38 was one of the all-time great debuts, and his SummerSlam one-on-one victory against The Miz proved it was no one-off.

But for all his raw talent (and big mouth), he has no business jumping the queue to face the Head of the Table, let alone be the man to dethrone him.

Logan Paul knows how to use any and all publicity to his advantage though, and by running his mouth he’s engineered this rather remarkable opportunity.

And while he’s clearly not on RR’s level, when it comes to a one-on-one match, absolutely anything can happen.

But even if Paul looks to bend the rules, Reigns has The Bloodline in his back pocket to make sure that he won’t be taken down by a YouTuber playing in his home.

PREDICTION: Roman Reigns

Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship: The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso) (c) vs The Brawling Brutes (Ridge Holland and Butch)

wwe crown jewel 2022 the usos vs brawling brutes

WWE

By means fair or foul, The Bloodline have swept away all challengers over the last couple of years or so.

That’s meant that The Usos have developed an iron grip over the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship, and in truth they’ve rarely looked in danger of losing the belts.

But more recently there’s been trouble at the table.

To put it delicately, Jey Uso isn’t feeling very Ucey at the moment. He even exploded that he doesn’t give a DAMN what the Tribal Chief says.

Things calmed down, but it certainly feels as though we’re a moment away from things coming to a head once more, and for Bloodline member and honorary Uce Sami Zayn and Jey Uso coming to blows.

Sheamus has been put on the shelf by The Bloodline, so few will give Ridge Holland and Butch a good chance in a likely less-than-fair fight, but we think that turmoil between Sami Zayn and Jey will come in to play.

A shock win for the Brutes, and The Bloodline to begin to fracture.

PREDICTION: The Brawling Brutes (Ridge Holland and Butch)

WWE Raw Women’s Championship: Bianca Belair (c) vs Bayley

wwe crown jewel 2022 bianca belair vs bayley

WWE

The WWE’s presence in Saudi Arabia is hardly precipitating a revolution there.

We’re not going to ignore or pretend that many of the obvious issues regarding human rights abuses in the country have disappeared or don’t exist.

The company does claim that those seeking to change the Kingdom for the better can only do so by actually getting involved and pushing things forward, rather than just cutting it off.

That sort of debate is way above our paygrade, but we will acknowledge that since Crown Jewel 2019, there has been at least one women’s match on every WWE in Saudi Arabia card, albeit with the wrestlers wearing modified ring gear.

This time around, Bayley and BIanca Belair go head-to-head once more.

After Belair retained in a ladder match at Extreme Rules, Bayley “earned” another shot with a win on Raw, taking advantage of the return of Nikki Cross.

Bayley’s DAMAGE CTRL pals will be fighting for their belts back this evening, but whether this match is before or after, we think they’ll still give the former hugger a helping hand, and make all the difference here.

PREDICTION: Bayley

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: Asuka and Alexa Bliss (c) vs DAMAGE CTRL [IO SKY and Dakota Kai]

wwe crown jewel 2022 asuka and alexa bliss vs io sky and dakota kai

WWE

Ah yes, no soon as DAMAGE CTRL had made their stamp on the WWE women’s division, than Asuka and Alexa Bliss nipped in and relieved them of their Tag Team Titles.

With Bayley still struggling to impose herself, it really feels like this is a crunch evening for all involved in DAMAGE CTRL.

We’ve already tipped Bayley to finally get back to the top of the mountain this time around, so perhaps a loss for IO SKY and Dakota Kai won’t be terminal.

With that said, Dakota Kai and IO SKY will absolutely be looking to re-establish themselves as serious business here.

Given how much more of an established partnership they are compared to Alexa Bliss and Asuka, we think they’ll do it, too.

PREDICTION: IO SKY and Dakota Kai

Brock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley

wwe crown jewel 2022 brock lesnar vs bobby lashley

WWE

He wasn’t anywhere near the Undisputed crown, but Bobby Lashley was strutting about happily with the WWE United States Championship, and had done more to elevate that belt than anyone since John Cena’s open era.

Lashley likely would have brushed off the not-insignificant challenge of Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins before Brock Lesnar popped up outta nowhere and layed down one hell of a beating on the champ.

Bobby being Bobby, he let himself get talked into still defending his title despite being in no state to do it.

Rollins won, but Lashley isn’t looking to immediately regain the US Title. Instead, he’s going right for revenge.

Bobby Lashley. Brock Lesnar. Big beefy men doing big beefy things. We can’t wait.

Lashley will be propelled by his pure strength as well as sense of righteous indignation, but even without Paul Heyman by his side, there are oh-so few people who can put away Brock Lesnar when he’s in the mood.

PREDICTION: Brock Lesnar

The OC (AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) vs The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damien Priest and Dominik Mysterio)

wwe crown jewel 2022 the oc vs the judgment day

WWE

With Rey Mysterio over on Raw, we no longer have the family psychodrama propelling this feud.

That’s okay though, as there’s still oh-so much inter-familial intrigue to go round.

We’ve got the mommy-son relationship of Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley within The Judgment Day, and over on the other side of the ring, we’ve got the surprise reunion of The (Bullet) Club, with Gallows and Anderson once again backing AJ Styles.

What makes that comeback extra juicy is that Finn Balor is their first opponent, which throws up a whole load more backstory from Japan and ownership of The Club.

As for who’s going to get the win, this one really could go either way, but we’re going for AJ Styles and his gang getting back on top – for now at least.

PREDICTION: The OC (AJ Styles and Gallows and Anders0n)

Braun Strowman vs Omos

This content is imported from YouTube. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site.

Of all the Vince McMahon sackings rehired by Triple H, Braun Strowman was in many was the most intriguing.

He was pretty near the top of the card when he was nixed, and he always seemed very much a Vince McMahon sort of wrestler.

Unlike man, Strowman’s worth seemed to diminish after he left the WWE as he struggled to control his narrative, but as soon as he returned he absolutely felt home.

Omos has flattered to deceive over the last year or so, but this is absolutely a match we can get behind.

Big beefy guy smacking the bewotsit out of each other in their big beefy way. As for the winner, well Braun has more experience and on his return, more hunger.

PREDICTION: Braun Strowman

Drew McIntyre vs Karrion Kross [Steel Cage Match]

wwe crown jewel 2022 drew mcintyre vs karrion kross

WWE

Drew McIntyre still feels a million miles away from the big belt. Headlining in the UK was a big feather in his cap, but losing that match means he’s right at the back of the line.

Karrion Kross on the other hand still feels like a man clawing his way into contention for some gold.

That’s the narrative, but Drew McIntyre has been underestimated many times in the past, so it won’t bother him one jot.

Of course it was Kross interference that cost Drew a fair shot at the title, while Scarlett prevented him from getting his vengeance in that Extreme Rules strap match.

So for all Karrion’s momentum, Drew will be looking to make a statement and get his revenge once and for all and put himself back into contention.

Despite that cage, it ain’t gonna happen. Kross to win, with Scarlett again bing the difference.

PREDICTION: Karrion Kross

Rumoured Matches:

  • WWE United States Championship: Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins vs Matt Riddle vs Mustafa Ali vs Elias
  • WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship: BIanca Belair (c) vs Bayley
  • WWE Intercontinental Championship: Gunther (c) vs Shinsuke Nakamura
